ON THAT FAITHFUL DAY

           The rays of the early morning sun filtered Ogechi;s face who was fast asleep on her bed, she unshackled her self from the bed, peeped through the window and she found out that it is already morning. She knelt down and said a very brief prayer before she went towards the door, she was about to unbolt the door and she remembered that it is valentine day. Like a flash of light she remembered the appointment she arranged with her new boy friend Ikenna whom she met four days to the valentine day. It was not up to ten seconds after she unbolted the door that a call came into her phone, it was Ikenna "Hello Ikenna good morning" she greeted with a cool and innocent voice " Good morning baby how was your night, i just called to remind you of our appointment ,you know this is our day we have to make it lively" Ikenna said. " yes i know" Oge replied with a very low voice. Before she removed the phone from her ears she noticed that her mother was staring at her from a close range. Her mother came close to her and called her with a motherly voice "Ogechi my daughter for some days now you no longer behave like the Ogechi i used to know, is anything the problem?, please talk to your mother." Her mother queried. "Mum nothing is wrong with me i am ok" Ogechi replied with a little grimaced face. "Ogechi be careful don't say i did not warn you, let it not be that you have joined bad girls , Ogechi be careful, be careful" Her  mother who was once an undergraduate some years ago, warned her with a rather harsh tone and walked away. Ogechi has already positioned her mind to meet Ikenna and therefore there is nothing that her mother will do that will change her mind though her mother did not know about the appointment. To Ogechi she want to have a feel of what this valentine fun which her friends talks about is like, this will be her first time of hanging out or going out with a boy in the name of having fun, to her she want to experiment and find out what it is all about. " Ogechi i am going for the zonal meeting, please take care of the house i will be back tomorrow morning" Ogechi's mother said before she drove out of the compound.

      At about eleven o'clock Ogechi was ready to go out with Ikenna. She looked at herself in the mirror inside her room and she noticed she is tall, have well polished and good toned skin, have well built figure eight stature,pair of lovely blue eyes and big bosom. she took a short glance at what she wore, it was a short skirt which hardly allow her to walk and a top which nearly exposes all her bosom. Though she is not much comfortable in it but she don;t have any option Ikenna had  warned her seriously to wear a sexy cloth. Before she could take another take another glimpse of her adorable self in the mirror , a call came into her phone and behold it was Ikenna. " Baby start coming out now i am waiting for you at Ogui Juction" Ikenna said terminating the call immediately.

Ogechi hurried up immediately to meet up with Ikenna who is already waiting for her. She could not have dare put on such clothe if her mother have not gone for a meeting, she had planed it very well before she agreed to Ikenna's request she had already known her mother will not be available on the valentine day.

  In matter of few minutes, she surfaced in Ogui junction like a flash of light and behold she saw Ikenna waiting patiently for her at the popular junction. Ikenna is a tall, fair and slim guys who will be the dream husband of every woman.  "oh baby you look so sexy i think i love this" Ikenna said inspecting Ogechi. "thank you" Ogechi replied as she chuckles. They boarded a bus going towards Abakaliki express road and in some minutes their bus stopped in front of gift palace hotel a popular hotel along Enugu-Abakaliki express road. They hold each other by hand as they match in into the hotel like a newly married couple. Ogechi was not much happy with the hotel arrangement she taught he would have taken her to shoprite but Ikenna convinced her that the Hotel is a better option. Ikenna booked  a room and.

  In matter of few minutes the two lovers are already in the room, "My love today i am going to prove to you that i truely loves you" Ikenna said leaving Ogechi's face to be flooded with cool smile. " my love i truely loves you and iam ready to do anything for you just to make sure you are happy, today is our day therefore we have to eat drink and enjoy our self"  He continued. "i love you so much in fact to see a man like you who is this caring is very hard", Ogechi returned.  He unwrapped a black nylon he was holding on his hand and behold it was a flower. He gave it to Ogechi, "This flower is a symbol of my love for you please accept it it is a gift from my heart", he said while handing over the flower to her. "Thank you!!!!!" Ogechi shouted  taking the flower from him and pushing it close to her nose. " My love it smell like you, the fragrance is very romantic". Ikenna sent a request for food and drinks through the intercom and in few minutes their order was supplied. The food ranges from delicious pepper soup, full chicken, fried rice, ice cream and hot wines and drinks.

  After the enjoyment before Ogechi could understand what was happening , Ikenna have already started kissing her and in matter of some minutes the two lovers was in a very deep romantic emotion which lead the two to have multiple round of sex.

  After the pleasures the two lovers went home and like a leave that withers in the dry season, the communication between Ogechi and Ikenna started dwindling. sometimes Ogechi will call Ikenna's phone number but he won't pick it.Ogechi became worried and wondered why Ikenna who had always affirmed how much he loves her in the past could not even give her a call. One day she decided to visit him but she found no body in the compound. Three weeks after the valentine day, Ogechi's body started changing and by the time she started vomiting her mother have to take her to the hospital to be conduct a test on her. It was a calamity when the pregnancy test conducted on Ogechi turns positive. It was like a bomb shell and was unbelievable. " Doctor may be it is not my daughter's result" Mrs Ngozi, Ogechi's mother said looking furiously at Ogechi who sat beside her and made her face look like a condemned criminal. "Madam you know very well that this hospital have a proven record of integrity", the doctor said. Ogechi's mother gave Ogechi a hot slap and draged her home. The next morning Ogechi's mother have to drag her to show her that Ikenna who have put her  in a family way, but on reaching ikenna's house they were told by Ikenna's neigbour that he have parked out. Ogechi cried hopelessly. "Ogechi what have i done to you, upon all the advise all the training you decided to bring shame to our family. Your father is a responsible professor in Abuja university, i aim a lecturer and we both have strategic positions in our church  Ogechi why?" Ogechi's mother cried out bitterly.

  That was how Ogechi who was the best graduating student in her secondary school truncated her dream of becoming a medical doctor at the age of 26. To her every fourteenth of February is like a black day to her. She later gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and named him Chisom. she later got married and now she have three children. she later went to the university and obtained a bsc degree in bio chemistry. Till today she have never set her eyes on Ikenna and to her that faithful valentine day remains a black day to her.......
