UPDATES ON LAST FRIDAY ACCIDENT ALONG ENUGU-ABAKALIKI EXPRESS ROAD.

       It all turned to a black Friday to the student of New heaven secondary school located along Enugu-Abakaliki Express way last friday 23rd day of January 2015, when a sixteen wheel trailer fully loaded with guiness empty crates fell off from a flyover along the Enugu-Abakaliki express way killing a teacher and a student and injuring some students.
    According to an eye witness, he said it was around 2.00pm in the afternoon that they heard a very loud noise and on getting to the scene of the incident they find out it was a sixteen wheel trailer that just fell off from the flyover and landed on a teacher and some students who were waiting for a bus to convey them to their various destination under the flyover.
    As at the time of filling in this report, a teacher by name Marcellina Onyebeke and a student has been confirmed dead while the injured student has been taken to the nearby hospital.
    When odkmediablog correspondence visited the school today, the atmosphere was very emotional with some students and teachers still dumbfounded and shocked by the incident. prayers was offered by the student and the teachers to the believed victims and the injured students for a speedy recovery.



According to the principal of the school, Mr Owoh Patrick, he said that on that faithful Friday afternoon he heard loud screams outside his office and before he could just take a breath, some student and teachers emotionally rushed into his office to inform him that an accident has just happened under the flyover and their student and a teacher was involved.
According to the principal rescue services was carried out immediately at the scene of the accident.The teacher, driver of the trailer and the student involved in the accident was immediately taken to the nearby hospital.But the school was unfortunate to lose their teacher before they arrived the hospital.
.We would recall that that series of accident had happened at the flyover in the past which made some people to regard that junction as a death trap looking for whom to consume. The principal of the school thereby call on government of Enugu state and the stake holders to come to their rescue and at least build a pedestrian bridge to enable the student cross safely to their other side of the road and avoid this unwanted loss of life of innocent students and teachers.
